Providing a Take-Away that’s Full of Potential

Overview

Harvest Resources' mission is to partner with Anne Arundel County families and individuals that are working towards self-sufficiency and addiction recovery by providing needed food and resources.

As they began to outgrow their current space and original partnerships, Harvest Resources needed a way to provide a physical take-away to potential sponsors and donors. Thus, a sponsorship packet was formed.

Together with founder Stephanie Evans and their team, we worked to craft messaging and tell the story of how this impactful organization is changing the face of homelessness and food insecurity in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. A printed and digital package was created to share with potential supporters.

It was important to create a package that enticed potential partners to open the double-pocket folder, but also provide a folder that could be multi-purpose and have a shelf life that extended outside of the sponsorship packet.

The tagline “Together We Can” was used as a play on food drives, but also as a unifying message inviting our audience into the mission and vision of Harvest Resources. This tagline was also used on stickers that the organization can hand out to the community to draw awareness to this major need.

The packet included:

  • Business card with contact info, including pantry hours and QR code for donations

  • Inserts documenting the following:

    • Letter from the Founder: The letter shared the founder’s transparent story of how relying on temporary food relief opened her eyes to the need for such resources in her own community.

    • “Our Heart”: This hand-out shared a brief overview of Harvest Resources’ mission, vision, and core values.

    • “Our Impact”: This hand-out listed the tangible and specific services the organization provides to the community, along with data supporting how many individuals and people they serve.

    • “Our Goals”: This pivotal piece is for potential sponsors to see what the future holds for Harvest Resources and how their donations would be used.

    • “Our Staff and Board”: This insert put a face to the mostly volunteer team who leads the day-to-day operations of the organization.

  • Pen imprinted with logo and website

  • Double-sided postcard including pantry hours, QR code for donations, and a brief overview of Harvest Resources’ heart and mission. The postcard serves a dual purpose as it can be provided at fundraisers and shared with businesses as a quick reference.

Results

Since launching, Harvest Resources has received one monthly sponsor and received many accolades on how nicely put together the packet is. It's been a strong resource to provide at fundraising events. Potential sponsors have shared that the packet provides a considerable amount of excellent information. Harvest Resources hope to share more packets with future sponsors as they continue to develop their team.
